Mothana al Obaidi
Mothana is an artist, master calligrapher and teacher. He has learnt the science of Arabic Calligraphy under Professor Abbas Al-Baghdadi at the Iraqi Calligraphers Association, since 1983. He has won many awards including the Award of Excellence in Art of Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Ornamentation from the Iraqi Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awqaf and the First prize winner of the Thuluth Script at the Fourth International Competition (Hamad Allah Al-Amasi), Istanbul, 1998.
